This is the in-person registration option, and the registration deadline is April 8th at 2:00pm. If registration is showing as closed before the deadline, it means the class is currently full.  

REALTORS® are committed to abiding by fair housing laws and the Code of Ethics. But sometimes, our brains take shortcuts that can lead us astray.

Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing is an NAR certificate course that helps real estate professionals interrupt stereotypical thinking so they can avoid fair housing pitfalls and provide equal professional service to every customer or client. Participants will learn about the mind science of identity, study how implicit bias can result in fair housing violations and engage in interactive exercises to enhance communication skills and business relationships with clients of all backgrounds.

Learning Objectives 
● Describe the history of bias and discrimination in real estate to understand how neighborhoods became segregated and appreciate the challenges many consumers still face because of their identities
● Explain how implicit bias may result in violations of Fair Housing laws and industry ethics.
● Identify interventions to prevent implicit bias, identity anxiety, and stereotype threat so that consumers will be treated with equal concern, respect, and fairness.
● Increase your personal motivation to confront these phenomena in your business and community.

Eligible for 3 CE Hours 

Members who register for a CE Class and then simply do not show for the class will be marked as a "no show" and following one initial warning, they will be issued a $10 fee each time they are a no-show. Please use your Info Hub to cancel your class registrations as needed in order to avoid this fee.
