Help the IRC send refugee youth to summer day-camps in Missoula!

MOR and it's DE&I Committee are hosting a SUMMER CAMP KIT DRIVE at the MOR office from May 13 to 17, and we need your donations to make this event a success!  

Please consider dropping off one more of the following items at the MOR Office (NEW items only): 

• Reusable water bottles
• Sunscreen
• Hats
• Swim goggles
• Beach towels
• Lunch boxes

Every year, the IRC in Missoula works diligently to ensure that summer camp is accessible to refugee youth by providing support with registration, scholarship applications, and additional financial support where needed. Full-time summer day-camps are an important opportunity for refugee youth to meet friends, integrate into their community, and build language and social skills that prepare them for success during the school year. With their children engaging in safe and structured programs, parents are able to focus on employment, earning income, and working towards financial stability.

However, beyond the high financial cost of attending summer camp, kids often need extra gear to ensure summer camp is successful, adding additional barriers! Summer Camp Kits will provide refugee youth with the items they need to be safe and focus on one thing, having fun!

About the IRC: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps individuals affected by humanitarian crises to survive, recover, and rebuild their lives in the United States. The IRC is at work in over 40 crisis-affected countries as well as 28 U.S. cities, including Missoula. The IRC in Missoula provides case management, housing, employment, legal, education, and health care navigation services to newly arriving refugees and eligible immigrants. Since opening in 2017, the IRC in Missoula has resettled over 700 refugees, primarily from Syria, Afghanistan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
